26,124 ton of garbage went into a landfill

Shenzhen produces 24,600 tons of waste everyday!
Shenzhen, a city with a population of more than 20 million and an area less than 2,000 square kilometers, produces as much as 24,600 tons of garbage every day, but only 14,025 tons of garbage can be processed by the 5 waste-to-energy plants and 3 landfill sites; going beyond the city’s limits. However, things are getting better now. In Shenzhen,
6,600 ton of waste is recycled per day, reaching a rate of recovery of 27%;
3 facilities for waste disposal will be put into use by the end of 2019 for an extra treatment of 10,300 ton of garbage per day;
Push the refuse classification plan;
Set up more education sites for household refuse classification in the future;
Launch campaigns for household refuse classification;
